We respect the environment and understand our obligations to carry out mining in a sustainable way. We strive to remain compliant with our mine licence conditions and the Botswana Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) Act. We are focused on responsible environmental stewardship and meeting our environmental obligations and commitments while striving to make efficient use of our natural resources. We are vigilant in protecting the environment and seeking to minimize our environmental footprint in all our operations.

Biodiversity

Protection of the biological resources near our activities is a key element in Mowana’s environmental strategy. We work with the government and other local stakeholders including NGOs and community members - who can best help us understand and protect local ecosystems.

Water

Water is important to every aspect of our operations. Our use of water is subject to a large number of ZEMA laws and regulations with a complex variety of permit conditions, standing environmental regulations, and reporting. We strive to Comply with these requirements.
